The development consists of the construction of ten new dwellings in conjunction with the refurbishment of an existing nine units on site. These units provide a mixture of 2, 3 and 5 bedroom homes with associated private landscaping and parking.
The scheme has developed an exciting architectural concept to present a new formal courtyard as a heart to the scheme. This space is framed by new development which completes the enclosure and provides a sense of privacy and exclusivity within the more public surroundings of the Golf Club. The courtyard interior has a softer palette of timber and glass that opens up the accommodation to the tranquil setting whilst externally all buildings take on a more barn like feel with natural stone walling and smaller glazed openings.
The refurbishment of the existing units has sought to present a significant planning gain in terms of replacing many of the dated external features and includes the replacement of all hardwood windows and doors throughout, new slate roof coverings and minor additions such as conservatories / small extensions to improve the accommodation wherever possible.
The development has been undertaken with great sensitivity to blend in with the setting and has been designed to minimise its carbon footprint by utilising new sustainable technologies such as heat pumps, energy efficient lighting and the most efficient insulation materials and techniques currently available.
