A social housing development of 6 two and three bedroom houses, and 4 one and two bedroom apartments on a brownfield site.

This is the third and final phase in the redevelopment of part of an existing post – war housing estate. The site contained two semi – detached houses with large gardens; the demolition of which provided an opportunity to increase the urban density and provide much needed social housing.

The proposed design extends Bonners Glen into the site with a block of three houses inline with the existing estate. Two further blocks, one of houses the other flats, sit at 90 degrees providing a neat, definite termination to the road.

The units have been designed to complement the existing estate while at the same time being noticeably different. This has been achieved by using matching bricks and roof tiles but with the addition of large areas of coloured render.

Units have been designed to be Code for Sustainable Homes compliant and the two ground floor apartments are fully wheelchair accessible.
